We’ve noticed that some users with Windows based PC’s have reported that NetBank has been running slowly on their machines. We understand that time is of the essence for our customers, and so work hard to ensure NetBank always runs at an optimal speed.

In some instances, we find that a customer’s computer may not be optimised for NetBank use. If you’re uncertain whether this is the case for your system, we suggest that you run a NetBank optimisation check.

Additionally if you’re using a Windows based PC, we recommend that you try these 3 measures to ensure your internet browsing is as fast as possible:

1. Clean up disk errors

When a program crashes or you experience a power outage, your computer may create errors on its hard drive. Over time, the errors can result in a slow PC. The Windows operating system includes several PC tools, including a Check Disk program, to identify and clean any errors on your computer and to help keep it running smoothly.

2. Remove temporary files

Your computer often stores temporary files when you’re looking at webpages and even when you’re working on files in programs such as Microsoft Word. Over time, these files slow your computer’s performance. You can use the Windows Disk Cleanup tool to rid your computer of these unneeded files and to help your PC run faster.

3. Reduce the size of your webpage history

Internet Explorer stores visited webpages to your computer, organising them within a page history by day. Although it’s often useful to keep a couple days of web history within your computer, there’s rarely a need to store more than a week’s worth. Any more than that and the collected webpages can slow down your computer’s performance.
