She advises women who are considering entering the awards to “go for it”. “Just entering makes you assess the things you have done in your business. To illustrate the benefits of their awards, the Telstra Business Women’s Awards program surveyed their winners and finalists from 2006 to 2010 and found that following participation; 25% of women joined a board, 38% expanded their business, 43% reported wider business networks and 51% enjoyed higher self-confidence in their business career.
