Applications are now open for our 2012 Community Grants program.

We’ve just launched the 2012 Community Grants program, which will award a record $2 million to eligible charities across Australia – making our Community Grants program one of the largest in the country.

Thanks to the generosity of over 10,000 Commonwealth Bank staff, past and present, who donate part of their salary, not-for profit organisations that support the health and wellbeing of Australian children can now apply for a grant of up to $10,000.

Since 2007, our staff have awarded more than 450 grants to community groups across Australia, worth over $3.6 million!  The Staff Community Fund is Australia’s longest running employee contribution program and is made up of current and retired Bank staff who remain dedicated to supporting children’s charities at a grassroots level.

Chloe Maxwell, model, presenter and  founder of children’s charity 4 ASD Kids and the Commonwealth Bank Community Grants ambassador, encourages all eligible organisations to apply for a grant.

“The Commonwealth Bank Community Grants program is a fantastic and generous initiative, which I am very proud to be a part of. My family has experienced first-hand the trials of living with a child with special needs, so I am aware of the contribution non-for profit groups make to the wider community.

“I encourage all community groups involved in improving the health and wellbeing of Aussie kids to apply for a Commonwealth Bank Community Grant today,” said Ms Maxwell.

To be eligible for a 2012 Community Grant, organisations must support the health and wellbeing of Australian children, and be endorsed by the Australian Tax Office with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

Applications close at 5.00pm AEST on Friday, 29 June 2012. To apply for a grant or for more information, visit commbank.com.au/grants
